Young adulthood and the transition to college is a time of intellectual curiosity and independence, but it is also the time when unhealthy habits may be cemented for a lifetime. PHA began the Healthier Campus Initiative (HCI) to empower colleges and universities to provide their students with environments that encourage healthier eating habits and more opportunities for physical activity.

In total, the Healthier Campus Initiative reached 79 campuses and 1.5M students. 370,270 students at HCI campuses were pell grant recipients and 491,088 were students of color.
