Shaping Early Palates

2020 Progress Report

PHA is partnering with baby food manufacturers, early childhood educators, and other key stakeholders who are working to improve nutrition for infants and toddlers.

Our goal is to raise a generation of children who love eating vegetables and have the affordable access to do so.

At its 2020 Summit, PHA announced six new partners for its Shaping Early Palates initiative:

  • Tiny Organics
  • Fresh Bellies
  • Nurture Life
  • lil’gourmets
  • Good Feeding
  • Square Baby

These companies joined a network of innovators and disruptors that are passionate about making it easier for parents and caregivers to raise children with healthy, lifelong eating habits. Throughout 2020, PHA hosted dialogues with leaders from its partner organizations to share ideas and strategize how best to promote early palate development.

Partner Spotlight:

As it completed its second commitment to PHA, KinderCare continued to improve its menu changes including removing all grain-based desserts, adding culturally diverse dishes, and increasing vegetarian options. They also reduced the amount of added sugar in the foods it serves and integrated parent education into its Cooking Academy curriculum.
