McLane Company Inc.
2017 Progress Report
Committed to make fresh produce available to each one of the 90,000 locations it serves. The company will also launch twelve healthier new private label products and clearly identify all healthier products offered, as well as broker pricing deals, in an effort to incentivize its customers to make the healthy choice when stocking their stores.
“McLane is committed to working with PHA and supporting its goal of solving the childhood obesity crisis within a generation. McLane’s commitments include:
Sharing our PHA partnership with our retail partners and encouraging them to provide healthier options at their stores. Initiatives include: extending discounts to customers on products that meet PHA’s Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria, offering better-for-you product bundles every quarter and creating and distributing better-for-you planograms that include only products that meet the PHA’s Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria.
Communicating our partnership with PHA to McLane teammates and encouraging them to make healthy lifestyle choices. Initiatives include: announcements of our commitment in email communication, print signage, company intranet, corporate website and a four-page spread detailing the partnership in McLane’s biannual internal company magazine.
Partnering with PHA’s signature initiative Drink Up by placing Drink Up signage at all water sources throughout over 80 McLane locations. Together, McLane and PHA will encourage teammates to drink water more often.
In addition, to the commitments above, McLane will continue to develop private label products that meet PHA’s criteria under McLane’s private label company CVP, as well as continue to offer FNV and Drink Up marketing materials to retailer partners.”
