Committed to improving healthier food access in conveniences stores by ensuring that at least 75 percent of all the products in its end-cap displays are healthier, check-out displays include at least 10 healthier products and to promote healthier options in the stores that it services.

      58% of all products (22 out of 38) in ESSTAR's Stay Healthy On The Go Food Station end cap displays meet the PHA Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria. ESSTAR has demonstrated progress toward its goal of having 75% of all products meet the healthier criteria.

      In stores where ESSTAR services the point of sale [cash register] area, ESSTAR will place a minimum of 10 products that meet the PHA Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria within three (3) feet of the point of sale [cash register].

      ESSTAR Checkout Counter Racks contain 15 products that meet the PHA Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria and are located within three feet of the point of sale.

      In stores ESSTAR services, ESSTAR will promote and market healthier offerings available in the store and/or at the pump through video or other means, as permitted by store owner.
    • Progress To Date

      ESSTAR promotes and markets the availability of healthier offerings through a combination of in-store and at the pump advertisements in 108 stores. All Twice Daily retail locations have implemented video advertisements at the pump and outdoor signage is being created for stores without video capabilities.

“In the first full year of our partnership with PHA we have increased the amount of healthy offerings in our portfolio by 10% - closing out the year at 52% approved items by PHA with a goal of 75%. We created a solution for retailers to offer healthy snacks at the checkout counter and launched the program in 48 Twice Daily stores in TN and KY. Our healthy snack planograms have been installed in over 150 stores in 8 states while increasing sales for retailers through our pump and social media advertising program. We are quickly making the healthy choice the convenient choice.”
