Enmarket’s Encourage Health Education Series features lunchtime presentations from local experts sharing insights on nutrition, fitness and general tips for healthy living. The Encourage series offers four presentations each year and Enmarket provides a buffet-style lunch featuring a variety of lean proteins and vegetables for every session. Additionally, at each presentation a local nonprofit organization receives a $1,000 Encourage Health grant to support their programs promoting healthy living, active lifestyles or nutritional education. In 2017, the fourth year of the program, the benefiting nonprofit organizations were Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia, The Living Vine, Savannah Striders and Savannah Urban Garden Alliance.

Since 2015, Enmarket has worked in partnership with the Forsyth Farmers’ Market to provide the Farm Truck 912 mobile farmers’ market with up to $3,000 of free fuel per year. Farm Truck 912 works to improve healthy food access in underserved communities in Savannah, Georgia by accepting and doubling SNAP/EBT benefits for fresh, local fruits and vegetables.

There is an ongoing effort to promote and price healthier items such that customers find the healthy choice is the convenient choice.”
