“Westin Hotels & Resorts ensures its littlest travelers can eat nutritious and delicious food on the road—making both parents and kids happy. In 2016, Westin launched a global competition, Mission: Delicious, to reinvent recipes for the brand’s Eat Well Menu for Kids. Hotel associates had six weeks to demonstrate their creativity and recreate the kids’ menu for today’s smallest global guests.

"Properties embraced this competition and celebrated the importance of healthy eating for children. For instance, The Westin Palace Madrid hosted the winner of Masterchef Junior to test recipes developed by the hotels associates; The Westin Harbour Castle engaged a junior reporter to interview the executive chef on the inspiration behind his submission; and The Westin Bonaventure created an internal competition where each of their chefs had to create 3 dishes that were taste-tested by a panel of 10 children.

"Once finalized, teams submitted their entries—over 180 unique recipes from 74 properties globally– to experts at PHA and SuperChefs™, a group of doctors, dentists, dieticians, chefs and education experts dedicated to educating kids on eating well. In addition, the Westin team designed a new menu that better merchandises the dishes and incorporates activities for children.”
