Westin
Whether you’re vacationing in Las Vegas, New York or even in Hawaii, Westin has got your kids’ health and nutritional needs covered. In 2016, the company launched Mission: Delicious, with the goal to reimagine recipes on its Eat Well Menu for Kids. Over six weeks, more than 180 unique recipes were submitted by hotel associates from 74 properties across the globe! The experts at PHA and Super Chefs – a group comprised of doctors, dentists, dietitians and others – helped determine the winning meals that are both nutritious and delicious, so that kids eat them up.
Westin, owned by Starwood Hotels and Resorts, committed to providing kids with healthier meals at its more than 200 locations worldwide. They’ve promised to follow guidelines that include more lean proteins, whole grains, low-fat or nonfat dairy, vegetables and fruit. But because they’ve partnered with Super Chefs, the meals they’ve come up with for kids aren’t just healthy and nutritious – they’re also fun, creative and tasty enough for even the littlest palettes to enjoy.
“We want all children around the country to have more opportunities to enjoy healthy food, whether they’re at home or on the go. When families travel, they need choices that will model their behaviors at home, which includes providing nutritious and delicious meals and snacks. Westin’s commitment to wellness is remarkable, and we are thrilled to partner with them to make healthier choices easier for their guests worldwide
~Lawrence A. Soler, President and CEO, PHA
The Eat Well Menu for Kids may include such options as granola parfaits made with Greek yogurt or spinach and cheese omelettes for breakfast, and fish tacos, turkey sliders or chicken quesadilla served with black beans and rice for lunch and dinner. Beverages that contain artificial colors or sweeteners are not even allowed on the menu!
