Partner Statement
“One Medical is working in conjunction with Iowa State University’s Dietetics Program to provide twelve weeks of free daily nutrition coaching to 500 families in need. Through One Medical’s nutrition app, Rise, participants are paired with a dietetic intern who reviews their meals and daily activity, providing both feedback and proactive suggestions tailored to the participant’s goals. Our first round of this program took place from September through November of 2016, serving 118 qualifying participants. Our second round begins April 1st, 2017, and currently has 215 enrollees. In order to have the greatest impact possible, participants must have a BMI greater than 25, be low income, accept governmental aid, and have children living in the home. Our hope is that the use of Rise will help participants and their families learn about nutrition, develop sustainable habits within their budget, and ultimately lead healthier lives.”
