Partner Statement

“This year, American University (AU) was excited to report on our campus-wide program that incentives the use of public and campus provided transportation. In order to complete this guideline, RecSports, Human Resources, and Public Safety worked together to provide commuter benefits for biking to work, discounts on metro fare, as well as maintain our free campus shuttle to and from the metro station. We have been working diligently on our remaining guidelines, and we look forward to sharing details about our newly constructed campus-wide walking trail in the future. In addition to this guideline, AU has continued its focus on increasing health and wellness resources on campus through a reorganization of our campus Peer Wellness Ambassador program. This has allowed us to provide consistent wellness programming to all of our students. Being a part of the Partnership for a Healthier America’s Healthier Campus Initiative has helped to make health and wellness a focus on our campus, and we are so thankful for their support as well make the healthy choice the easy choice!”
