Partner Statement

“Facing Hunger Food Bank, a member of the Feeding America network of food banks, is working with Partnership for a Healthier America to increase the number of fruits and vegetables being served in our network of 250 member agencies. Through this partnership, we hope to increase the overall health and well-being of the over 116,000 individuals in need that reside throughout our seventeen county service area throughout West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. We will have a pilot project aimed at integrating health and wellness services into the pantry setting with a focus on incentivizing the consumption of additional fresh and healthy foods. We are hopeful that this pilot, which nudges people toward better nutrition by providing more food for making healthier choices, will improve the eating habits and, ultimately, the health of our clients, many of whom are living with obesity, hypertension and diabetes.”
