Partner Statement

“Concord University made significant progress in achieving our goals with the Healthier Campus Initiative in 2018. The greatest changes that have been made are our facilitated physical activity opportunities. For much of the year we offered weekly group walks on our track. We also offered a variety of how-to physical activity classes including self-defense, salsa dancing, beginner hiking, yoga, crossfit, and fitness center for newbies. Our Wellness committee organized a wellness fair in the fall and a walking challenge in the spring. There are also efforts on campus to develop bike trails in the local community. Our student food pantry continues to serve many students on campus and is supported by students, faculty, staff, and community members. We are looking forward to a great year with the Healthier Campus Initiative in 2019.”
