Committed to make fresh produce available to each one of the 90,000 locations it serves. The company will also launch twelve healthier new private label products and clearly identify all healthier products offered, as well as broker pricing deals, in an effort to incentivize its customers to make the healthy choice when stocking their stores.

McLane now offers three fresh produce products and nine nut and trail mix products that meet PHA criteria under its Fresh Produce + and Hometown Market private labels.

    McLane continues to meet its commitment by providing a "Bundle of Health" product bundle deal consisting of six healthier Hometown Market private label products, Salted Almonds, Salted Cashews, Raw Almonds, Very Cherry Vibe, Honey Roasted Cashews and Country Club Mix which all meet PHA Food and Beverage Product Criteria.

    Through increased employee promotion, relaunch activity tracker program whereby teammates can receive a wearable activity tracker free of cost (with documentation of annual physician check-up, on a first come, first served basis) until remaining supply lasts., and upon depletion of supply in 2017 or anytime thereafter during the course of this commitment, offer on a first come first serve basis to for up to 15% of the remaining teammate population per division.

    McLane incentivizes health and wellness by offering a variety of discounts and promotions to its teammates through a benefit called Perkspot. The discounts apply to health clubs and gyms, weight loss programs, activity trackers, at-home wellness kits, yoga studios, spas and fitness equipment.

McLane was honored to be chosen as a finalist for PHA’s Partner of the Year Award in both 2018 and 2019 and is delighted to share PHA’s initiatives with our teammates, customers and consumers nationwide.

McLane’s commitment to PHA includes a wide range of supply chain solutions that make it easier for stores to stock products that meet PHA’s Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria. In 2018 alone, McLane distributed nearly 1.8 billion pounds of fruits and vegetables to foodservice and grocery retailers. McLane extends discounts to customers on PHA-approved products, including better-for-you product bundles every quarter, and creates and distributes planograms featuring these products. McLane’s private label products subsidiary, CVP, continues to develop healthier new products that meet PHA’s criteria and offers FNV marketing materials to retailer partners.

McLane encourages its teammates to make healthy lifestyle choices and is expanding beyond the scope of its commitment by offering healthy tips and recipes in its internal teammate magazine. Teammates can also take advantage of discounts on gym and health club memberships, weight loss programs, fitness equipment, wellness kits and activity trackers.
