Food matters. It means more than just what is on our plates. We know that what we eat, where it comes from and who we share it with are important. Food is the foundation for a healthy lifestyle and it’s a way for us to bond, laugh, talk and teach each other how to make our favorite meals. This informs how we bring our Mars Food purpose to life – Better Food Today. A Better World Tomorrow. – and it’s why we continue working towards the goals set forth in our Health & Wellbeing Ambition.
Through this Ambition we will grow our business by providing healthier, affordable, convenient, and tasty foods for people to enjoy; inspire shared dinnertimes around the world; and support our own Associates’ wellbeing.
We’ve created a culture that encourages more shared meals through recipe sharing, tastings and cooking activities (now all virtually). We continue to introduce new products that meet our Mars Food Nutrition Criteria and to add products that include legumes. We’re working to reduce overall sodium in the market by developing reduced-sodium formulas for our existing products, eliminating high sodium products and introducing products that are 300 mg of sodium or less per serving. Though we’ve made some progress, we have more work to do and are working towards even more improvement.
