    Commitment Element

    Onboard 25 new CAFB partners into 'Partners for Wellness', a program which recognizes and elevates food bank nonprofit network members who commit to providing access to nutritious food and nutrition education.

    Progress To Date

    Capital Area Food Bank has met their commitment by on-boarding an additional 15 Partners in Wellness in FY 2019. With this addition Capital Area Food Bank has added 30 partners, bringing the total number of Partners for Wellness to 103.

    Commitment Element

    Bring produce to 1,500 families and their elementary-aged children in high-needs areas of Prince George's County, MD through a partnership with Brighter Bites.

    Progress To Date

    In 2019, Capital Area Food Bank expanded the Brighter Bites program to an additional 3 schools and 2 summer feeding sites. 1,327 families received 354,924 pounds of fresh produce, up from 318 families and 68,801 pounds last year.

    Reach 600 more families and their school-aged children in northern Virginia through Family Markets.

    Progress To Date

    In 2019, the Family Market Program of Capital Area Food Bank provided grocery distributions to an average of 1,127 families in Northern Virginia on a monthly basis, up from an average of 129 families at baseline in 2017.
