Introduction

Message from the President and CEO 2023

I am so proud of the forward movement we’ve made since I joined Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) at the start of 2023.

As you’ll read in this year’s Progress Report, we’ve made significant headway in our mission to ensure Good Food for All! We have:

  • Connected families with millions of servings of fresh fruits and vegetables, bringing us to over 35 million servings toward our goal of 100M servings by 2025.
  • Provided over 255,000 servings of local, Delta-grown produce to 350 families in need.
  • Supported greater access and parity in USDA food programs and the reduction of added sugars in the U.S. food supply.
  • Piloted innovative work that empowers communities to build long-term, sustainable habits of produce consumption.
  • Begun work with Indianapolis and Denver to double produce consumption in both cities by 2030.

We’ve also brought on seven new team members to help fulfill our mission and work, and solidified the principles that will guide our organization for years to come. These include our commitment to building collaborative relationships that offer mutual trust and support, never ceasing to imagine what’s possible while remaining grounded in what we know to be true, and working towards diversity, equity, and inclusion internally as an organization, as well as externally in our programs and partnerships.

potato skins filled with turkey and vegetables I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished — but there’s still more work to be done to cultivate equity at every level of the food system. I look forward to continuing our efforts alongside our partners, donors, and supporters like you!

With gratitude, Noreen Springstead
