Ahold Delhaize USA and its local brands – Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop – are proud to enter the third year of working with Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA). Ahold Delhaize USA’s commitment to PHA reinforces our dedication to serving our connected customer and nourishing our local brands’ communities and families, believing healthy food should be affordable for all.
Healthy foods support healthy communities, which is why each of our omnichannel brands strive to meet customers’ unique nutrition needs, offering personalized guidance to help make healthier food choices, both in stores and online through an industry-leading nutrition guidance program called Guiding Stars, the world’s first and longest-serving program of its kind. This trusted guide also enables Ahold Delhaize USA companies to set targets for sales of products meeting science-based standards for nutritional quality. Ahold Delhaize USA was one of the first food retailers in the U.S. setting sales targets for products meeting a nutrition standard.
Our great local brands also continue to add healthier products to their assortments and reassess their own-brand products to reduce salt, sugar, and fat, and increase vitamins, whole grains, and fiber. Several brands also offer retail dietitians to help customers with their specific food-health needs at no-cost. Ahold Delhaize USA and its companies strive to meet PHA commitment targets, and we will continue our work to support and empower health and sustainability among our customers, associates, and the local communities we serve.
