    Ahold Delhaize USA brands are making progress towards the commitment. 52.1% of sales from all own-brand food products in 2021 were for products with 1, 2 or 3 stars through the Guiding Stars program.

    Beginning in 2020 and annually through the term of the commitment, ADUSA will publicly disclose the percentage of total store sales generated from all products that achieve 1, 2 or 3 stars though the Guiding Stars program to create transparency around national brand performance.

    Progress To Date

    On May 19, 2021, at the Partnership for a Healthier America Virtual Summit, Ahold Delhaize USA publicly disclosed that just over 31% of its total store food sales generated from products that met the nutritional criteria to earn a star within the Guiding Stars program.

Each of our omnichannel brands meet customers personal needs and provides healthier food choices in stores and online, so customers can meet all their goals. The brands continue to add healthier products to their assortments and keep reformulating own-brand products to reduce salt, sugar and fat and increase vitamins, whole grains and fiber. Ahold Delhaize USA brands are helping customers find these healthier choices through an industry-leading nutrition guidance program called Guiding Stars, the world’s first, and longest-serving program of its kind. This trusted guide also enables Ahold Delhaize USA companies to set targets for sales of products meeting the science-based standards for nutritional quality. Ahold Delhaize USA companies are the only food retailers in the U.S. setting sales targets for products meeting a nutrition standard. As our brands continue to strive to meet PHA commitment targets, we will further our dedication to supporting health and sustainability among customers, associates and the local communities we serve.
