Committed to meet 23 guidelines—developed by PHA in collaboration with some of the nation’s leading nutrition, physical activity and campus wellness experts—around nutrition, physical activity, and programming on campus.

    Offer on the menu a minimum of one (1) wellness meal at each breakfast, lunch and dinner meal (if served).

    Progress To Date

    SUNY Cortland offers at least one wellness meal at breakfast, lunch and dinner at Neubig Dining and The Bistro Off Broadway. Wellness meals are promoted at the point of presentation with signage featuring meal components and food and nutrition requirements. New digital signage will be available throughout both dining facilities in Fall of 2019.

    Offer a healthier catering menu that only includes foods and beverages that meet healthier food and nutrition guidelines.

    Progress To Date

    SUNY Cortland offers a Healthy Catering Menu that only includes food and beverages that meet PHA's Healthier Campus Initiative Catering Criteria. All food items meet standards for saturated fat, trans fat, added sugar and sodium. All beverages are lower in calories, added sugar, and milk offered is low-fat or non-fat. A variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean meats are available and no foods are fried.

    Commitment Element

    Provide, without a user fee, sixteen (16)-hour per day access to at least one (1) fitness or recreation center for all students.

    Progress To Date

    SUNY Cortland provides students with free access to the Student Life Center recreational facility for 17.7 hours per day, on average, each week.

Partner Statement

We are very excited to have completed all of our elements and officially partner with PHA. We have a healthy campus and keep wellness as one of the four main pillars. We are proud of the work we have done to accomplish this and look forward to our healthy future!
