    Provide marked walking routes on campus, one of which must be at least two (2) miles in length and have distance markers at regular intervals. A route map is made available to individuals on campus.

    Progress To Date

    Mount Saint Mary's University's Mount Wellness Walk offers a 0.8-mile walking trail through the Doheny campus. Mile markers are placed at every 0.2 miles and a map of the walking trail is available on the University's internal and external websites.

    Progress To Date

    Mount Saint Mary's University has posted signage requiring cars to stop for pedestrians at both marked crosswalks on the Doheny campus. Due to the topography and layout of the Chalon campus, there are no marked crosswalks.

    Implement a campus-wide program/policy that incentivizes the use of public or campus provided transportation.

    Mount Saint Mary's University incentivizes the use of public transportation by sponsoring several complimentary shuttle programs and services that are designed to assist current faculty, staff, and students with an easier and safer commute between campuses, popular destinations and other public transit options. Faculty and staff who commute to work full-time using public transportation are eligible and encouraged to enroll in Mount Saint Mary's University Transit Subsidy program providing up to $50 per month in reimbursement. Additionally, the University established the Zimride Rideshare Program with discounted parking passes to provide support and assist students, faculty, and staff in the creation and operation of carpools.

    Offer, without a user fee, both: a.Fitness/recreation center orientation during the first semester for all incoming students and b. One (1) fitness assessment all students each academic year.

    Progress To Date

    Mount Saint Mary's University offers free fitness orientations to introduce students to circuit weight equipment and cardio machines. Orientations are offered annually at Freshman Orientation and throughout the academic year. Free fitness consultations are also available and include bio-metric screenings (body weight measurement, body fat & BMI analysis, circumference measurements and blood pressure readings), goal setting, basic nutrition guidance and exercise program suggestions.

    Mount Saint Mary's University offers an outdoor fitness system with stations including squat racks, TRX, dumbbells, kettlebells, slam ball, landmine, triceps dips, sleds, treadmills and a farmer's carry.

    Mount Saint Mary's University offers a number of free outdoor, facilitated physical activities each week on both the Doheny and Chalon campuses. Offerings during the 2018-2019 school year included outdoor boot camp, Fire Trail hike, strength training, court soccer and swimming.

    Mount Saint Mary's University offers students free gear rental for camping and beach activities. Equipment options include tents, sleeping bags, beach balls, boogie boards, long fins, ultimate Frisbees and various beach games.
