Partner Statement

In our first year as a part of the PHA’s Healthier Campus Initiative, JCSU hosted our first Healthier Campus Week. We hosted several events including field day, yoga, workout Wednesday, mental health seminar, and flu shot clinic. Our university makes free water available to all students, faculty, and staff in all dining, educational, and recreational facilities. Focusing on safety, JCSU also has crosswalk signs posted throughout campus for pedestrians. We are excited to have those as our first two completed and verified commitments. We have also established a wellness committee bringing together various stakeholders on campus, including faculty, staff, and students to develop a deliverable wellness program and will spend 2019 focusing on the nutritional guidelines. We also plan on hosting our second Healthier Campus Week in September 2019 and are excited to bring health and wellness to the forefront on our campus.
