Saint Louis University

Commitment

Started on February 26, 2015
3 year commitment | View progress

Going off to college signals a time of newfound independence for young adults, who are suddenly able to make their own choices about what they eat and how much activity they get – or don’t get. But college and university students, faculty and staff now find themselves in healthier environments thanks to the work being done by PHA partners like Saint Louis University (SLU).

SLU teamed up with us back in 2015, committing to meeting 23 guidelines, all with an eye toward shaping good habits for our future leaders and parents. Over three years, the university will make changes such as providing healthier food and beverage options in dining venues, creating opportunities for physical activity and offering wellness programming on campus.

With 13,400 students and approximately 1,300 members of the faculty and staff, these changes will help encourage healthier options among the more than 14,700 individuals on campus each year. We know SLU’s changes will have a major impact on healthier living now and for generations to come.
