2 year commitment

Helping patients and their families build healthier habits is a group effort, and one that companies like Cerner stepped up to do. Cerner, along with GE Healthcare and Physician’s Computer Company, teamed up with PHA to develop the Healthy Weight Plan, which provides doctors with tools to identify, manage and track childhood obesity.

On March 7, 2013, Cerner, one of the nation’s largest providers of electronic health records (EHR), joined in a commitment to PHA. As part of the Healthy Weight Plan, Cerner aimed to help capture relevant data to track at-risk patients, present data and practical goals to patients and families in a way they can understand and provide information about community resources to help support healthy weight goals.

Cerner’s eHealthy Weight Plans help providers positively affect the health of their communities by proactively engaging children and their caretakers to actively manage their weight. By integrating the plans into Cerner’s Millennium solution in the fall of 2014, these helpful resources are now available to all Cerner clients.

At the time of partnering with PHA, Cerner’s commitment had the potential to not only impact millions of doctor visits per year, but also hundreds of thousands of patients and families by helping them develop healthy habits for a lifetime.
