Partnership for a Healthier America's Healthier Campus Initiative is a nationwide effort to create campus environments that encourage and support greater physical activity and healthier eating habits.

Coppin State University

Commitment:

Going off to college signals a time of newfound independence for young adults, who are suddenly able to make their own choices about what they eat and how much activity they get – or don’t get. But college and university students, faculty and staff will now find themselves in healthier environments thanks to the future work of PHA partners like Coppin State University (CSU).

CSU, a historically black college located in Baltimore, Maryland, teamed up with us in May 2017 at our Building a Healthier Future Summit, committing to meeting 23 guidelines, all with an eye toward shaping good habits for our future leaders and parents. Over three years, the university will make changes such as providing healthier food and beverage options in dining venues, creating opportunities for physical activity and offering wellness programming on campus. Through these changes, we know CSU will have a major impact on healthier living now and for generations to come.
