Making the healthy choice the easy choice for American families is what PHA is all about. But someone has to make those healthier choices available. McLane Company Inc., the nation’s largest grocery and foodservice distributor, plays that critical role for stores, restaurants, pharmacies and other mass-market retailers.
McLane’s commitment to PHA includes a wide range of supply chain solutions that make it easier for stores to stock fresh produce and products that meet PHA’s Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria. When McLane proactively highlights healthier options, it encourages its convenience and grocery store customers to meet consumer demand.
McLane is currently working to create a list of products that meet the PHA Healthier Food and Beverage Criteria or PHA Healthier Recipe Criteria. The company has promised to promote these products to the businesses that buy from them, making it easier for them to identify healthier choices and pricing them competitively. They’ll offer bundled discounts to customers on a routine basis that align with seasonal themes.
Additionally, the company will make healthier choices easier for its employees, offering free activity trackers and healthier catering options for corporate meetings.
