With help from PHA, convenience stores have been transforming their image and as well as their inventory. Now customers who want healthier choices – such as fruit cups, salads, yogurt and hummus – will find these items prominently featured and easily accessible in a growing number of stores, including Maverik convenience stores.
In May 2018, Maverik teamed up with us in a commitment to promote healthier options such as fresh fruits and vegetables, healthier packaged food products and made-to-order options in its more than 300 locations across the country. Through its commitment with us, the company becomes the first PHA convenience store partner to expand healthier beverages in both the cooler case and at the fountain machine. Additionally, for a six-week period every summer of the two-year commitment, Maverik will support PHA’s mission to encourage people to Drink Up through a cause-marketing campaign where it will donate 5 cents from every private label bottled water to PHA with a guaranteed minimum of $25,000.
Our partners like Maverik help sure that where people live doesn’t limit the type of food they can buy, even if their closest option is a convenience store.
152,792 c-stores in the U.S. serve approximately 160 million Americans every day, which means that on average, half the U.S. population visits a convenience store every single day
