DICK's Sporting Goods

Commitment:

Companies that sell youth sporting goods are a natural fit for the PHA mission. DICK’s Sporting Goods – with 645 locations, one of the largest sporting goods retailers in the nation – and DICK’s Sporting Good Foundation jumped on board in 2016 with a two-year, $25 million investment in expanding youth sporting opportunities.

Investing in America’s kids isn’t new to DICK’s. Its Sports Matter program – which it has promised to expand as part of its commitment to PHA – was created to fill the gap left by billions of dollars in funding cuts to youth sports. The company was concerned that in losing the opportunity to play, millions of American kids would also lose valuable opportunities to build character, self-confidence and the motivation to stay in school. Through Sports Matter, DICK’s supports everything from girls ice hockey in Anchorage to Youth Lacrosse and Leadership for kids growing up in Harlem, a program that often leads to higher grade point averages and college scholarships for disadvantaged youth.

Through its commitment, DICK’s is contributing sports equipment and financial support to a wide range of youth sports teams, leagues, community organizations and events all over America.
