Partnership for a Healthier America Joins Unprecedented National Campaign to End Childhood Hunger
Hundreds of Non-Profits Nationwide Join the Albertsons Companies Foundation for its “Nourish the American Dream” Initiative, Featuring a Celebrity-Backed Dream Pantry Auction and $2.5M Donation Match.
Washington, D.C. (June 24, 2026) — This summer, millions of children will lose access to the dependable school meals they rely on. To combat this urgent local and national crisis, Partnership for a Healthier America has joined an unprecedented, first-of-its-kind collaborative effort: Nourish the American Dream.
Spearheaded by the Albertsons Companies Foundation through its Nourishing Neighbors initiative, this pioneering model unites hundreds of distinct nonprofit organizations under one giving umbrella. The fundraiser will kick off with a Dream Pantry Auction, a first-of-its-kind charitable auction where pantry items become sought-after collectibles. Celebrities and athletes have reached into their own pantries at home, grabbed something off the shelf, and autographed it, turning everyday pantry items into one-of-one collectible memorabilia. The auction features signed pantry staples ranging from cereal and chips to pancake mix, yogurt and more from notable names including Khloé Kardashian, Robert Downey Jr., Tony Hawk and others. This will empower Partnership for a Healthier America to raise vital funds for programs nationally while maximizing community engagement through a single, powerful national campaign.
The Nourish the American Dream campaign is a nationwide effort to ensure every child has the nourishment they need to thrive. The campaign features:
A $2.5 Million Match: Albertsons Cos. Foundation will double qualifying donations made during the giving window (July 1–7, 2026). You can donate directly to PHA at ahealthieramerica.org/nourish.
The Dream Pantry Auction: A first-of-its-kind charity auction hosted by Mario Lopez, featuring everyday pantry items autographed by celebrities like Robert Downey Jr., Khloé Kardashian, and Tony Hawk. The auction link can be found here.
“Feed This” PSA: As part of the campaign, the Foundation debuted a national PSA titled “Feed This,” that reframes childhood hunger not only as a humanitarian issue, but as a barrier to participation in the promise of the American Dream. The PSA shines a light on one of the most difficult times of year for families facing food insecurity: summer, when millions of children lose access to the dependable school meals they rely on each day.
WHEN: National Giving Window & Donation Match: July 1 – July 7, 2026
WHERE: Learn more and bid on auction items at NourishTheAmericanDream.org.
WHY: Childhood hunger persists year-round, but the summer months when school is out create one of the most visible and urgent gaps. Providing nourishment unlocks a future defined by possibility, strength, and shared prosperity for our youth.
