August 19, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC - Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) – the premier national nonprofit working to transform the food landscape in pursuit of health equity – today announced that Kwik Trip has raised $150,000 during its 2021 coin canister campaign to support PHA’s national food equity initiatives. Kwik Trip, a family-owned company based in La Crosse, WI with more than 775 stores in the Mid-West, has partnered with PHA for years on a variety of efforts, including its annual coin canister campaign and other significant public health efforts.

“Kwik Trip’s passion for health and support of PHA has made an enormous impact on our ability to transform the marketplace of food,” said Nancy E. Roman, President & CEO, Partnership for a Healthier America. “They’ve made a difference with their own healthy offerings, and through their generous customers who want everyone to be able to have access to the same good food they do.”

Now in its eighth year, this campaign has raised more than $700,000 to create healthier futures for all Americans. Throughout the month of June, all 775 Kwik Trip locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois urged guests to support PHA’s work with the placement of canisters at every checkout.

“Kwik Trip is honored to collaborate with PHA to transform the marketplace in pursuit of health equity,” said Dave Ring, Community Relations Manager, Kwik Trip. “Thank you to the generosity of our guests and co-workers who have supported our continued mission of making a positive difference in the communities we serve.”

In 2014, Kwik Trip was the first convenience store chain to partner with PHA and has since made a number of advancements to make healthier choices more accessible for their guests, including growing its EatSmart program and becoming the first convenience store to offer a PHA-approved snack bundle.
