Dr. Caree J. Cotwright - Board Member

Dr. Caree Cotwright Headshot Dr. Caree Jackson Cotwright is a nationally recognized nutrition security and public health leader with more than 20 years of experience in federal policy, academic research, community engagement, and cross-sector partnership development. She previously served as Director of Nutrition Security and Health Equity for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service, where she helped lead national efforts to improve food and nutrition security and advance the goals of the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.

Dr. Cotwright is an Associate Professor of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Georgia and Director of the Childhood Obesity Prevention Laboratory. Her work focuses on translating prevention messages into practical, creative, and community-centered strategies that support children, families, educators, and health professionals.

A TEDx speaker, keynote presenter, founder of Dr. Caree, LLC, and experienced nonprofit board member, Dr. Cotwright brings a powerful blend of policy expertise, research leadership, and community-centered innovation. She is deeply committed to helping ensure that nutritious food is accessible, practical, and meaningful in the everyday lives of families and communities.
