Half the U.S. population visits a convenience store every day, so the food in stores shouldn’t just be healthier, it should also be more affordable. PHA works with partners like Habor Wholesale to transform the marketplace by ensuring that convenience stores across the nation are fully stocked with healthier options.

Harbor Wholesale Foods (HWF) is a family-owned distributor serving more than 2,700 convenience stores and other retailers in the Pacific Northwest. HWF has made a three-year commitment to only include products that meet PHA’s Healthier Food and Beverage Criteria in its “We are Northwest Fresh” portfolio, ensure that all products that use the “Healthy Choice” logo on product and in marketing materials align with the PHA Healthier Food and Beverage Criteria. They will also ensure that 50% of its “Snack Right” set and 60% of items in it’s “Fresh Zone” cooler set meet PHA’s Healthier Food and Beverage Criteria. HWF will also enhance its existing internal wellness programs to promote healthy eating and physical activity among its employees.
