The Better For You Promise
About GOOD GOOD Product Participation Products featured in the GOOD GOOD social marketing campaign are selected to support PHA’s mission of helping all consumers move toward healthier food choices over time. Inclusion in GOOD GOOD does not constitute an endorsement, certification, or verification of any product’s health, safety, or nutritional claims by Partnership for a Healthier America.
PHA is not a product certification body and does not independently verify nutrition labels, ingredient lists, or any health-related claims made by participating brands. All product claims remain solely the responsibility of the manufacturer. PHA expressly disclaims any liability arising from the consumption of, or reliance on claims made about, any product featured in the GOOD GOOD campaign.
How We Evaluate Products PHA administers a mutli-step evaluation process to assess nutritional value of food and beverage products.
PHA utilizes Guiding Stars as an initial step in assessing the relative nutritional quality of products. Guiding Stars ratings are determined by Guiding Stars Licensing Company, an independent, science-based nutrition guidance program. PHA makes no representations regarding the accuracy or completeness of those ratings. You can learn more about PHA’s partnership with Guiding Stars here.
Further analysis of the nutritional value of products featured in GOOD GOOD is conducted by a registered dietitian on PHA’s staff.
PHA recognizes that not every product featured in GOOD GOOD will receive the highest nutritional rating, and that is by design. Research shows that consumers benefit from dietary guidance that is realistic and meets them where they are so that their diets can move closer to the recommendations. GOOD GOOD is a social marketing campaign, not a nutrition prescription, and participating products are selected to support that incremental journey.
PHA reserves the right to decline participation by any product that, in PHA’s sole judgment, conflicts with our organizational values or public health mission, regardless of Guiding Stars rating.
Nothing on this page or in the GOOD GOOD campaign should be construed as medical or dietary advice. Consumers with specific health conditions or nutritional needs should consult a healthcare provider.
