NACS is a Partnership for a Healthier America partner. Thanks to support from the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), and through their commitment to PHA, this healthier product calculator allows retailers, manufacturers and distributors to easily identify packaged foods and beverages that meet PHA’s Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria.

PHA’s Healthier Food and Beverage Product Criteria are based on the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and national expert recommendations. As the science evolves, PHA may update the calculator to align with new evidenced-based guidance. Our current criteria consider both the product’s nutrient quality (including factors such as saturated fat and sodium content) and the product’s primary ingredients (such as whole grains or fruits and vegetables, for example).

Simply click on the link below to launch the Healthier Product Calculator, and answer a few brief questions to see if a product meets the criteria:

If you have questions about the calculator or would like to see the full criteria, please contact us.

Please note that the product name and any information inputted into the calculator will not be publicly available nor will there be any external communication of items either meeting or not meeting the criteria. The goal of this calculator is to allow users to have more confidence as they consider which healthier products to stock, sell, market or merchandise.
