Partnership for a Healthier America Launches WafflesandMochi.org to Coincide with ‘Pass the Love w/ Waffles + Mochi’ Campaign

This site will also educate visitors about the need for food equity and encourage donations to PHA’s efforts through the campaign to provide 1 million meals to families in need.

“A goal of the Pass the Love campaign is to meaningfully shift our food culture starting with good food, prepared and enjoyed at home,” says Nancy E. Roman, President and CEO of the Partnership for a Healthier America. “By leveraging former First Lady Michelle Obama and the characters from Waffles + Mochi, WafflesandMochi.org does just that. With fun and engaging content that takes families on exciting food adventures without ever having to leave their homes, we’re excited to share this important resource with the world.”

WafflesAndMochi.org includes recipes inspired by the show and at-home activities for each of the ingredients featured in the show’s episodes, for families to earn badges, just like Waffles + Mochi.

The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed more Americans into food and nutrition insecurity, making it harder for families to put good food on the table. WafflesAndMochi.org will educate visitors about important food access and equity issues and serve as a platform for raising charitable donations to support the campaign’s mission of providing 1 million meals to families in need across the country through Pass the Love meal kits, inspired by recipes and ingredients from the show.

About Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA)

The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), founded in partnership with Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign in 2010, is the premier national nonprofit working to transform the food landscape in pursuit of health equity. PHA seeks partnerships that have the greatest potential to reduce health disparities. We do this using evidence-based approaches that drive systemic access to better food. In a decade of work, we have partnered with more than 300 corporations, convenience store chains, and distributors, hospitals, early childhood education centers, and SNAP-Ed implementing agencies, among others, in pursuit of our vision that all children grow up healthy and free from obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic conditions.
