Kwik Trip Raises $140,000 to Support the Work of Partnership for a Healthier America, Helping to Transform the Food Landscape in Pursuit of Health Equity

Now in its seventh year, the PHA/Kwik Trip fundraising campaign has generated more than $550,000 in support of PHA’s efforts.

WASHINGTON, DC – The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) – the premier national nonprofit working to transform the food landscape in pursuit of health equity – today announced that Kwik Trip has raised more than $140,000 during its 2020 coin canister campaign to support PHA’s national initiatives. Kwik Trip, a family-owned company based in La Crosse, WI with more than 725 stores in the Mid-West, has partnered with PHA for years on a variety of efforts, including its annual coin canister campaign and other significant public health efforts.

“For the better part of a decade, PHA and Kwik Trip have collaborated to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of PHA’s important work, while also transforming the landscape of nutrition in the convenience store retail setting,” said Nancy E. Roman, President & CEO, Partnership for a Healthier America. “We look forward to many years of partnership ahead. PHA would especially like to thank Kwik Trip’s leadership, staff, and customers alike for their support at such a crucial moment.”

Now in its seventh year, this campaign has raised more than $550,000 since 2014 to create healthier futures for all Americans. Throughout the month of June, all 700-plus Kwik Trip locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa urged guests to support PHA’s work with the placement of canisters at every checkout.

“Kwik Trip is honored to collaborate with the Partnership for a Healthier America and raise money and awareness for PHA’s healthier food, fitness, and lifestyle initiatives,“ said Dave Ring, Community Relations Manager, Kwik Trip, Inc. "The monies raised will help make a positive difference in the communities we are fortunate to serve.”

In 2014, Kwik Trip was the first convenience store chain to partner with PHA and has since made a number of advancements to make healthier choices more accessible for their guests, including growing its EatSmart program and becoming the first convenience store to offer a PHA-approved snack bundle. Most recently, Kwik Trip committed to promoting greater consumption of fruits and vegetables by joining PHA’s FNV (fruits n’ veggies) campaign, printing and placing marketing pieces featuring celebrity spokespeople at all Kwik Trip stores in Wisconsin.
