Enrollment Questions

How do I sign up?

You will sign up for your Good Food Funds card at ahealthieramerica.org/CAFE-Safeway.

What is the enrollment period?

December 20, 2022 to January 13, 2023.

What information do I need to provide to sign up?

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Mailing address - your Good Food Funds card will be mailed to you

  • Bulleted list

  • Phone number - optional but recommended

Do I have to give my mailing address?

Yes, the Good Food Funds cards will be mailed to you. If you do not want to use your personal mailing address, we suggest finding an alternative - friend, family, or discuss other options with your Good Food for All pickup location.

What happens after I sign up?

After you sign up, you will receive your Good Food Funds card by mail in January. The Good Food Funds card can be used in all Safeway stores starting February 1, 2023.

Can I register my Good Food Funds card online?

Yes, you can register your card at goodfoodfunds.org to:

  • Link your card to your phone number for cardless check out.!*

  • Check your monthly available balance.

In the event that you forget or lose your card, you may use your phone number at checkout to redeem your Good Food Funds.

Can other people in my family sign up?

No. So that we can serve as many families as possible, we ask that only one person sign up per household.

In-Store Redemption Questions

What are Good Food Funds?

Good Food Funds provide $50 each month for three months to buy fresh fruits and vegetables at all Safeway Food locations in Indianapolis. This is a follow on program from Good Food for All to promote a healthy habit of produce.

How much will I receive to use in stores?

Each month from February through April 2023, participants will receive $50 per month to spend on fresh produce in all Safeway stores.

When will I be able to start using the cards in stores?

You will be able to use your Good Food Funds in all Safeway stores starting February 1, 2023.

How long will I receive the Good Food Funds?

You will receive Good Food Funds for three months, from February through April 2023.

Do the Good Food Funds rollover from month to month?

No, the $50 must be spent in that month, any remaining will be removed from your account at the end of the month.

What can I buy with Good Food Funds?

Only fresh fruits and vegetables can be purchased with Good Food Funds. When you use your card to purchase, any additional items will not be covered.

What is Safeway?

Safeway is a local grocery chain with five locations throughout Indianapolis.

Can I use my Good Food Funds at any Safeway location?

Yes, you can use your Good Food Funds at any Indianapolis Safeway location:

  • 5040 E. 16th Street
  • 3008 N. Kessler Boulevard
  • 5602 N. Illinois Street
  • 2176 S. Shelby Street
  • 3435 N. Sherman Drive

Card Questions

What happens if I lose my card?

If you lose your card, you can have it replaced. Your account balance would be carried from your previous card. Please contact Tikilia Tinker-Martin at 317-503-4687 or Tikilia.Tinker-Martin@indy.gov.

Can I use my phone number at checkout instead?

If you have registered the card on goodfoodfunds.org, you will be able to use your phone number in place of your Good Food Funds card at checkout.

Where can I see my monthly available balance?

You will see your monthly balance on your receipt and can also look it up online at goodfoodfunds.org if you have registered your card on the website.
