Instacart and Partnership for a Healthier America Connect Families with Over Five Million Servings of Fresh Produce in Under Resourced Communities Nationwide and Announce New Good Food at Home Cities
Instacart, the leading grocery technology company in North America, and Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), the nation’s leading nonprofit working to improve the food landscape in pursuit of health equity, today announced that they have connected families with over five million servings of fruits and vegetables, marking a major milestone in their ongoing national effort to connect under-resourced communities with 10 million servings of produce by 2025. Instacart’s and PHA’s joint commitment was made as part of the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health in 2022.

Partnership for a Healthier America and The Foundation for Fresh Produce Join Forces to Host First-Ever Produce for All Leadership Summit
On Monday, June 10, 2024, Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) and the International Fresh Produce Association’s Foundation for Fresh Produce co-hosted the first-ever Produce for All Leadership Summit at the Grand Hyatt in Washington DC. This invite-only event gathered 130 leaders from across the business, public, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors to share knowledge and create an actionable plan to double produce consumption in communities around the United States.

Healthy Hunger Relief: Prioritizing Nutritious Food in the Charitable Food Sector
Healthy Hunger Relief has been a cornerstone of PHA’s work toward good food for all. Since 2016 when the program was first started, we have been inspiring the charitable food sector to measure the nutritional content of its food inventory and prioritize healthier food options. In 2021, as part of generous funding PHA received to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, we recruited 35 food banks across 13 states to integrate Healthy Eating Research (HER) Nutrition Guidelines into their standard operating practices by measuring the nutritional quality of their food products, or receive produce grants to directly impact vulnerable communities throughout the Midwest.
