Development Coordinator

PHA made a commitment to add 100 million servings of fruits, vegetables, and legumes to the marketplace, and we have made significant progress towards that goal, providing 45 million servings to-date through evidence-based programs.
Position Summary:
PHA is seeking an early-career development professional to play an integral role in the day-to-day administrative operations of the development department under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Development.
The Development team is currently responsible for raising $7M. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the CRM database to ensure the organization has the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding revenue and donor pipelines. In addition, this position will play an important role with executing processes regarding donor engagement and donor communications, which are crucial to PHA’s ability to effectively raise revenue.
This fully remote position will join a highly motivated, collaborative team that is based across the country. There will be domestic travel involved, and this position should plan on at least 3-6 trips per year.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management
- Manage all revenue-facing functions of PHA’s donor database (Salesforce) and perform regular quality checks
- Provide regular revenue reports for the Finance department to reconcile contributions and coordinate annual closing and audit preparation
- Provide ongoing accurate reporting of progress towards revenue goals, along with information on donor activity
Donor Engagement
- Coordinate donor stewardship processes, including prompt and accurate acknowledgement of all gifts and in compliance with IRS requirements
- Coordinate thank you calls and emails, as well as other special acknowledgments for donors
- Assist with managing the funder contract process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Proactively research prospective funders and coordinate with SVP of Development for appropriate next steps
Development Communications
- Assist the SVP of Development with annual updates to public-facing websites, including Candid/Guidestar, to ensure PHA is well represented
- Assist with external collateral, including annual progress report, pitch decks, etc.
Special Events and Meetings
- Support event logistics for the planning and execution of fundraising or donor-focused events
- Collaborate with the SVP of Development to update materials for quarterly board meetings and other funder meetings
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in development support role for a nonprofit or related field
- Working knowledge of donor management software (Salesforce preferred)
- Fluency with computer applications such as Google workspace, Microsoft Office, project management software, and other web-based applications
- Understanding of best practices in donor data management
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and comfortable building relationships with people at all levels
- Desire to learn and grow in the field of development
- A passion for working in public health, food systems, and related issues preferred
Staffing:
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Development.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000, commensurate with experience. Partnership for a Healthier America has a competitive benefits package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, 401K with an employer match, paid vacation and sick leave, paid parental leave, paid time off during the last week of the calendar year, 11 paid Federal holidays, and the ability to work remotely full time.
