3 year commitment
Food preferences are formed in infancy*, and the nutrition we get early in life plays a major role in how healthy we are later. Sprout Foods, an organic baby food company specializing in age-appropriate fruit and vegetable pouch purees, understands this and is working to make its already health-focused products even healthier.
As a PHA partner, Sprout has committed to increasing the amount of vegetables in its products and positively shaping nutritious food preferences among infants and toddlers, in order to have a significant impact on the long-term health of our children.
By 2022, Sprout will ensure that at least 50 percent of its pouch puree portfolio will have a vegetable as the first ingredient and 100 percent of this portfolio will include no added sugars or added fruit juice. Sprout will also educate parents about the role early palate development and training plays in setting children up for a lifetime of better eating and better health, with an emphasis on increasing the amount of vegetables and limiting the amount of sugar in children’s diets.
