Job Posting: Institutional Prospect Researcher (Part-Time, Remote)

The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) is the premier nationwide nonprofit working to transform the food landscape in pursuit of health equity. Founded in 2010 alongside former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Initiative, PHA is a nonpartisan nonprofit that is led by some of the nation’s leading public health and food equity advocates.

PHA is looking for a qualified individual who will work with senior staff to expand institutional funding opportunities for the organization through careful research and donor analysis.

The position is a part-time, remote contract position (approximately 15-20 hours/week), with room for growth contingent on performance and organizational need. Potential candidates should have at least partial availability during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Eastern Time).

Initial Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct directed research on foundation, corporate, and family foundation funders with great creativity, accuracy, speed, and breadth
  • Proactively identify new and high-level funding opportunities through electronic alerts, RFP monitoring, and other data mining techniques
  • Observe, analyze, and articulate trends emerging from research efforts
  • Prepare prospect reports for use by senior staff and serve as prospect tracking and recordkeeping lead
  • Other fundraising-related duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least two years experience working in the nonprofit and/or social impact sector
  • Prospect research proficiency, especially foundations and corporations, and understanding of fundraising processes and donor cycles
  • Experience using online prospect research tools and databases
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) that include sensitivity to donor information
  • Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability to quickly and concisely synthesize large amounts of information
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Office Suite, and relational databases (e.g. Salesforce or other CRMs)
  • Ability to operate with independence and creativity, bringing new ideas and thinking to existing research efforts
  • Ability to thrive under ambiguous and dynamic conditions with collegiality and flexibility
